tomewing: Bhundu Boys - True Jit: Another wonderful record, this one from perhaps the most tragedy-haunted group ever: their Wikipedia biography is a ghastly procession of AIDS deaths, suicide, poverty and the attentions of a Western music press who courted them only as long as they were sufficiently ‘authentic’. This record was where that press spurned them - incredibly, since it’s a terrific, effervescent, humane pop album. Off to bed now, if I listen to anything before I go to sleep I’ll cover it tomorrow. I must hear this album.
