i always see the comparisons between nicki and lil kim—but i’m really interested in somebody talking about the differences/similarities between eve and lil kim. cuz i’m a big old band wagon mainstream hip/hop consumer. which means i know next to nothing, except the commentary that i read. fortunately, i tend to focus on hip/hop smart folks, but every once in a while, *F*eminists get all up in my face—like, they glom on to Nicki and spend days and days and days dissecting her, and i want to sort of let maggots chew my eyeballs out, but i figure instead, i’ll see if anybody on tumblr likes talking about eve versus lil kim.
i’ve always preferred eve, but honest to god, i know next to nothing about lil kim. and i actually always preferred Missy Elliot over all the women folk that made it big, but i only know her on the surface, sorta in the same way i know eve— a couple of albums that sorta went mainstream and that’s about it.
if any non-*F*eminist folk out there gets off on talking about this stuff, i’d love to read what you have to say.
I may get a chance to get into this later, but if not/until then, signal boost

Signal boost, but also, Eve > Lil Kim forever. String of totally classic singles, and the label bullshit that’s kept us...
